Airlines issue waivers ahead of potential Christmas storm

While weather forecasters are still wrangling over whether a monster snowstorm will impact Atlanta Christmas Day and make its way up the East Coast this weekend, several airlines have already issued waivers that let passengers alter flight plans with no fees.
Travelers flying to, from or through affected cities can reschedule with a one-time date or time change for the same itinerary, or request a refund if a flight is canceled or, in some cases, significantly delayed.
--United: Newark, New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Boston, Washington, Baltimore, or Atlanta Dec. 25-27; passengers with tickets purchased on or before Dec. 23. can make one change within seven days of waiver travel dates.
--Continental: Newark, New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Boston, Washington, Baltimore, or Atlanta Dec. 25-27. When rescheduled travel starts by Jan. 3, 2011, change fees and fare differences will be waived; for all other changes, the change fee will be waived, but a difference in fare may apply.
-- Delta: Boston, New York, Newark, Washington and Baltimore Dec. 26-27 (Dec. 25 and 26 for Atlanta); tickets must be reissued and travel start by Dec. 29.
-- American: Boston, Washington, Baltimore, New York, Philadelphia Dec. 26-27; travel must begin by Dec. 29.
-- US Airways: Washington, Baltimore, Boston, Newark, New York, Pittsburgh, and Philadelphia Dec. 25-27 and Atlanta and Charlotte Dec. 25-26; travel must be within seven days of scheduled departure.
