UK regulator investigates online hotel bookings

LONDON, England Online hotel bookings have captured the attention of the UK regulatory agency that investigates anti-competitive practices.
The Office of Fair Trading is investigating possible collusion between hotels and online booking operators to keep rooms artificially high, according to reports by the Financial Times, Telegraph and BBC.

Marriott to drop internet fee at more hotels for VIPs

The overnight costs in European cities continue to fall. A standard double room in July is down to 89 pounds - an eight percent drop in comparison to last month. Spanish cities in particular have reached their lowest point this year, with Madrid falling to 80 pounds and Seville dropping to 60 pounds.
